UX Roadmap for Hostelworld

 

Overview: In collaboration with Hostelworld’s Design Manager, I set out the following research-oriented UX product roadmaps for all Domains* (the teams at Hostelworld were organized into Domains. Each Domain represents a web page in the user flow and is comprised of a designer, developer, product manager, and data analyst dedicating to maintaining that page):

  • Creating site maps (to gain a holistic understanding of the domain),

  • Conducting stakeholder interviews (to align domain goals with business goals),

  • Identifying ‘red routes’ (to have a grasp of the most pertinent user flows from a user and business point of view),

  • Conducting heuristic analysis (to recognize the existing debt),

  • Prioritizing issues identified using ‘severity grading’ system and cost-benefit analysis,

  • Conducting moderated usability testings to verify issues identified and take cognizance of issues not yet detected.
